Dark Empire Records is proud to announce the long-awaited eighth album from Gallic black metal insurgents GLORIOR BELLI, an eponymous assault due out next month via the recently-reformed label.
NO CLEAN SINGING has graciously premiered the video for the band’s first single “Weltschmerz Wield Power,” describing the single and video as such:
“True to the roots of black metal, the video has no more use for the trappings of The Cross and its carriers than GLORIOR BELLI has ever had, but instead confronts them with levitating horned lords of Hell and their hooded emissaries (among whom are the band members themselves).
“As for the music, it’s a rager. It delivers raw and violently rampaging black metal fury, a blast furnace of blistering screams, furiously hammering drums, and corrosive riffing that dismally swarms, blares like the bursts of a warning siren, and writhes in searing madness, accented by quivering lead-guitar ecstasies.”
Frontman Billy Bayou states: “With ‘Weltschmerz Wield Power,’ we’re channeling the raw energy of rebellion against oppression. It’s about breaking free from the dogma that has held humanity captive for millennia. Parasitic ideologies have drained our spirits for too long. This song is a battle cry for those who dare to stand tall, to wield the power of world-weariness as a weapon against conformity. It’s an anthem for the new dawn we’re forging, where no walls can confine our liberated minds.”
Recorded, mixed and mastered by Bayou in his home studio in 2021 shortly after becoming the touring bassist for hardcore legends Integrity, Glorior Belli represents the culmination of a two-decade-long journey that has consistently defied black metal conventions.
Glorior Belli is more than an album—it is a tribute to resilience and free thought. In a move that reflects both courage and conviction, the band dedicates this record to the armed forces of Ukraine and all those who stand with them during the ongoing war at Europe’s gates.
