Festival Review: Firevolt Festival 2023

The Firevolt Rock Festival held in Stockport, England in 2022 was one of the best small festivals I’ve ever attended. We attended last year in the event’s debut and couldn’t wait to return this year.

But enough about last year, let’s dive into our review of the 2023 Firevolt Rock Festival in Stockport, England. Organizers Stret and Bev did not disappoint in this year’s line-up.

Starting off on Friday, the Trooper Stage boasted an impressive line-up with Royal Republic, When Rivers Meet, Hollowstar, Hells Addiction, and Luna Marble. Each band brought their unique energy to the stage and had the crowd headbanging and moshing. The Big Top Stage also delivered, with Massive Wagons, Cardinal Black, Sons of Liberty, and White Raven Down.

Saturday’s Trooper Stage saw Thieves of Liberty, Valhalla Awaits, The Virginmarys, and The Answer absolutely killing it. Meanwhile, the Big Top Stage showcased The Hot One Two, Apriori, Scruffy Bear, Vega, and headliners Mason Hill who ended the night with an epic set.

The festival closed out on Sunday with The Golden Leaves, Atack, Gin Annie, Collateral, and headliners The Kris Barras Band. It was a perfect way to end an incredible weekend of rock music. While over on The Big Top Stage the rock audience and community enjoyed a variety of musical delights offered up from a diverse range of artists such as Ashen Reach, the blues of Jack J Hutchinson and ending with the Celtic tinged melodic rock of Dare.

One thing that we love about the Firevolt Rock Festival is the friendly atmosphere. From the organizers to the vendors and attendees, everyone is kind and welcoming. The idyllic surroundings make for a perfect festival experience. We even brought our young puppy for 2/3 days, and there were great facilities for her as well. The facilities were top-notch, with plenty of clean toilets, showers, and water stations available. We never had to wait too long for food or drinks, as there was a plethora of options to choose from, including vegetarian and vegan options.

Overall, Firevolt Festival 2023 exceeded all expectations. We had an incredible time and can’t wait for next year’s event. Stret and Bev truly outdid themselves, and we’re grateful to have been a part of such an epic weekend of rock and community. The crowd was rocking, and the bands played their hearts out, keeping us all pumped up until the very end.

In conclusion, the Firevolt Rock Festival is a must-attend event for all rock fans. With such a fantastic line-up, a beautiful location, and a great sense of community, there’s no way you won’t enjoy your time there. Big kudos to Stret and Bev for creating such a memorable experience.

I'm a 40+ music fan. Fond mostly of rock and metal - my staple musical food delights. Originally from Northern Ireland, I am now based in the UK-Manchester. I have a hectic musical existence with regular shows and interviews. Been writing freelance for five years now with several international websites. Passionate about what I do, I have been fortunate already to interview many of my all-time musical heroes. My music passion was first created by seeing Status Quo at the tender age of 15. While I still am passionate about my rock and metal, I have found that with age my taste has diversified so that now I am actually dipping into different musical genres and styles for the first time.
